Forklifts (also called industrial lift trucks) are used to lift, stack and transfer loads in many workplaces across NSW. Fully loaded, a standard forklift and its load can have a combined weight of five or more tonnes, making the operation of a forklift truck a high risk activity.

A person who operates a forklift must hold a high risk work forklift licence. Training to get a high risk work licence must be completed as part of a course delivered by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). Welding 101 is an introduction to welding. ​In this hands-on course, well-known trainer Peter Koschmann will teach you the basics of welding processes, helping you develop the confidence to undertake basic welding projects. This non-accredited training will also cover the use of personal protective equipment and working safely.

This is a very practical course where students will practise different welds. For personal safety, participants in this training will need to wear cotton clothing (long sleeves and pants), protective enclosed leather shoes, welding gloves and helmet.

CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
A white card (or general construction induction card) is required for workers who want to carry out construction work.

People who need a white card include:

• site managers‚ supervisors, surveyors, labourers and tradespeople;
• people who access operational construction zones (unaccompanied or not directly supervised by an inducted person);
• workers whose employment causes them to routinely enter operational construction zones.
