TECH SAVVY SENIORS

Get Tech Savvy!

Free, fun digital skills sessions for seniors.

The Tech Savvy Seniors digital literacy training program increases digital inclusion, reduces social isolation and increases access to online information and services among older people.

Seniors represent a large and growing segment of the Australian population. According to the Australian Digital Inclusion Index 2020, people aged 65+ remain Australia's least digitally included age group.

Live a life of continuous learning

The Tech Savvy Seniors training program was designed to help seniors develop the skills and confidence to get connected and participate in the online world.

Digital literacy skills are essential for anyone who wants to actively engage with family and friends across the country and the world. Tech Savvy Seniors gives older people, particularly those in regional and remote areas of New South Wales, the opportunity to develop the skills and confidence to use technology for social networking, to access important services, or conduct personal business online.

What you'll learn

It’s never too late to brush up on your online skills or learn new ways to stay connected with your loved ones. Learn skills in:

  • email;
  • smartphones and tablets;
  • social media;
  • online shopping;
  • Internet banking;
  • cybersafety;
  • using apps;
  • sharing photos;
  • online hobbies including researching local and family history.

Ageing well in NSW

Tech Savvy Seniors in NSW is funded by the NSW Government (through the Department of Family and Community Services) and Telstra. Training is delivered free of charge in NSW public libraries, and at a low cost through NSW community colleges. The program is a key commitment of the NSW Government’s Ageing well in NSW: Seniors Strategy 2021 to 2031.
