HLTAID009 Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Learn the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.

Students who successfully complete the training will be able to:
  • respond to an emergency situation;
  • perform CPR procedures;
  • communicate details of the incident; and
  • review the incident.
HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation expires one (1) year from date of attainment.

Who is this course for? Expand

This training applies to anyone:
  • seeking to gain the skills and knowledge to provide CPR, including parents, volunteers, existing workers and members of the public;
  • required to re-fresh their CPR skills for use in a range of situations, including community, sporting and workplace settings.

Prerequisites
All students must be able to meet the requirements to:
  • Perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for at least 5 cycles of both compressions and ventilations (100-120 compressions per minute) on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor.
  • Perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR for at least 5 cycles of both compressions and ventilations (100-120 compressions per minute) on an infant resuscitation manikin placed on a firm surface.
  • Participants will need to bring a clean towel to kneel upon for the floor work.
