Weaving with Waabii

Join this class where you'll create your own unique piece of art using traditional weaving techniques in a relaxing atmosphere. This beautiful craft has been passed down from generation to generation. Weaving is a healing experience and a great way to sit and yarn and connect to culture.

All materials are included in the cost. Your starter kit includes: 1 starter, 1 needle, 50g of Natural Raffia and 50g Eco dyed Raffia.

  • Waabii combines authentic traditional and modern experiences through products and workshops. You will learn traditional weaving techniques as you enjoy interesting and intriguing stories from Waabii about tradition, culture and language.

Your tutor for this workshop will be Ngarrabul elder, Waabii Adele Chapman-Burgess. Waabii’s mission is to share knowledge for growth through schools and local communities so they can implement culture into everyday living.
