COURSE DETAILS

Description Collapse

Café Kick Start is a practical, hands-on program where participants build their skills through cooking, teamwork and food service.

Start with simple recipes and individual food-preparation activities before working with others to prepare a shared meal. As the course progresses, participants take on more responsibility, working together to prepare and serve a buffet and gaining experience in both kitchen and front-of-house roles.

The program culminates in a food-service event, with participants helping to choose the menu, plan the service, prepare the food and put everything they’ve learned into action.

Along the way, practical kitchen activities help participants develop foundation skills in reading, numeracy, organisation and communication.
