OUTREACH SUPPORT OFFICERS

SEARCH

Our Outreach Support Officers are here to help you find the right training, support and pathways to achieve your goals.

The Outreach Support Officer program at Community College Northern Inland (CCNI) is part of the NSW Adult and Community Education (ACE) sector’s commitment to connecting learners with personalised education, training and support. ACE plays a vital role in providing flexible, welcoming and locally accessible learning opportunities for people who may have experienced barriers in their education or employment journey, helping them build confidence, foundational skills and pathways to further training and work.

Our Outreach Support Officers work directly with individuals and community partners to guide, encourage and assist learners in navigating education choices, overcoming challenges and achieving goals that strengthen both individual lives and our communities.

What an OSO does

Outreach Support Officers at CCNI provide personalised guidance and connection for learners who may face disadvantage or disengagement, helping them to:

  • learn about relevant training and funding options available through ACE and Smart and Skilled;
  • identify and address barriers to participation;
  • engage with education and community resources;
  • connect to pathways such as further training, employment and workplace skills development;
  • feel supported throughout their learning journey.

Pat B
Outreach & Learning Support Officer
MOREE CAMPUS
Mobile 0492 647 314
Email pat@ccni.nsw.edu.au

Pat uses his teaching background to create accessible pathways for learners who have traditionally been underrepresented in vocational training. He works alongside each learner, focusing on what they can do rather than what they can’t, and takes the time to build trust and confidence. His aim is simple—to help people feel ready and supported to take the next step toward gaining new skills and qualifications.

Key areas of support include:

  • Individualised planning and reasonable adjustments for study;
  • Connecting learners to additional services (eg LLN support, counselling, transport assistance);
  • Community engagement events and information sessions;
  • Ongoing mentoring to improve retention and completion rates.

“Everyone deserves the chance to learn in a way that works for them. My role is about meeting people where they are and walking alongside them.”

Key areas of support include:

  • Career pathway advice tailored to individual goals;
  • Support for learners balancing study with work/family responsibilities;
  • Partnerships with local employers, job services, and community hubs;
  • Practical help with enrolment, technology access, and learning resources.

“Education changes lives — and when it leads to meaningful work, the impact ripples out to families and entire communities.”

Our Outreach Support Officers are here to help.
