Outreach Support Officer | Learner Support Officer

Community College Northern Inland (CCNI) is seeking an Outreach Support Officer/Learner Support Officer to support local students and community members to access adult education and training opportunities through our Inverell campus.
The position also includes allocated reception and administration duties to support the smooth running of the campus.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position until 31 December 2028.
About the role
This role would suit someone who enjoys working with people, understands the local Inverell community, and is confident supporting learners from a range of backgrounds.
As the Outreach Support Officer/Learner Support Officer, you will help connect individuals with training opportunities, provide practical learner support, and build positive relationships with local businesses, services and community organisations.
You will also provide front-of-house and administration support, including assisting with enquiries, student enrolments, correspondence, course administration and general campus support.
Selection criteria
To be considered, you will need:
- demonstrated experience or strong interest in adult education, community engagement, learner support, administration, or a related field;
- strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- ability to engage respectfully and effectively with diverse community members, students and stakeholders;
- ability to build and maintain positive relationships with local services, businesses and community organisations;
- strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities;
- confidence using Microsoft Office, email and online systems;
- commitment to inclusive practice and respect for learner diversity;
- ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sensitivity;
- sound knowledge of, and connection to, the local Inverell community;
- a current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain one;
- a current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one.
Desirable skills and experience:
- understanding of the Adult and Community Education sector;
- qualifications or training in community development, adult education, administration, learner support, or a related area.
