This course is all about the basics you'll need to work in the construction industry in a safe and efficient way. Topics covered in this non-accredited training may include:
- math and measurement skills
- completing workplace forms
- workplace personal protective equipment
- identifying workplace hazards
- workplace safety including safety signs and manual handling
- strategies for work-related learning.
Units of Competency
This term students will complete the following non-accredited units:
- CSO202011 Identify workplace hazards
- CSO202012 Workplace Personal Protective Equipment
- CSO202205 Read and respond to routine texts in the construction industry
- CSO202206 Complete routine workplace texts in the construction industry.
This training will be delivered in the following ways:
- students will attend practical face-to-face training sessions.
- training sessions will be held one day each week for the course duration.

This course is ideal for anyone interested in a career in construction, including:
- Stay at home parents
- Long term unemployed looking at gaining basic skills
- Participants with woodworking projects
- Young people
- Home hobbyists.
Prerequisites for Training
